Thank you for partnering with the Lord and us in the work he is doing here in Central Africa. This summer has been going well for us. We pray that you are doing well and that you are living in the Lord and his life, joy, and peace.
We were very blessed this summer to be visited by Chelsea’s parents and brother. We loved being with them again, introducing them to some of our Rwandan friends and the work we are a part of at this time. It was a gift from God for our kids to be able to be with their grandparents and uncle again.
In D for D, our team has been working to help local church teams in Rwanda to re-launch their whole-life discipleship groups in their churches and neighborhoods. In Rwanda, COVID-19 protocols kept people from meeting together for workshops. But for the last few months we have been able to meet again. It is exciting to see the teams working together and passing on a vision of whole-life transformation. Our team has also been continuing to follow-up with our D for D groups in Burundi and Congo Friends churches through a phone app called WhatsApp. We are thankful for the blessing of technology that has enabled us to stay connected even during COVID-19 restrictions on travel. But we also look forward to when we can be back together with them in in person.
Recently, we welcomed Thomas Moore who is in a process of discerning how God is calling him and preparing him toward being a missionary. He is a short term missionary with EFM and will be with us for the next year. Please pray for God’s blessing on his time here, that he will be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and that God’s plans will become even more clear for him.
Our family is looking forward to being a part of the Kumbya Missionary Conference (July 24 – 30) which is an annual gathering of English-speaking missionaries from around the world who are serving in Central/East Africa. This conference has been happening each year since 1944. We look forward to rest, learning, renewal, and fellowship with other missionaries.
We have been preparing for Future Missionaries visiting in early August. Matt Macy is bringing four high school/college students who have sensed God leading them towards becoming missionaries. Please pray with us as we help them connect with our Rwandan Friends and continue their journey of learning how God made them and what he wants them to do in his mission here on earth.
Here are some of our upcoming trips:
- Burundi and Congo visit
- Tanzania in September
- South Sudan in October
Thank you so much for your prayers and partnership with us!
