EFM’s mission field in Nepal began in 1994 with the John and Sangi Vanlal family who are from Mizoram, India. Shortly afterwards another family joined EFM and based their ministry in a different part of Nepal. Out of the ministries of these two families, two yearly meetings have developed that are now operating under their own Nepali leadership. They continue to plant churches.
B. and D. A. were a significant part of the ministry in Nepal. They retired in 2023 after almost 30 years of missionary service with EFM in Nepal. They have left behind a large group of churches that are faithful to the Lord Jesus, sustainable regarding their own leadership and economic resources, and are constantly evangelizing and planting more churches. In these first years of transition, B. will be making two trips each year to encourage the church leaders of Nepal. You can give to this project by visiting our projects page here and selecting “EFM Nepal | Encouragement Trips” at check-out.
Currently, Samson and Priscilla Retnaraj (from India) are serving along the Nepal/India border helping to promote a ministry based on a model called Community Health Evangelism (CHE). Several Nepali leaders have been raised up through this ministry and many communities helped.
