FAMILIA

Saludos desde Bután y de nuestra familia. Nos gustaría darles una actualización sobre nuestra familia, mi hijo mayor y nuera están bien. Están emocionados y felices con la bendición que Dios les ha dado – nuestra nieta. Cumplirá tres meses el 14 de agosto. Nuestros dos hijos menores comenzaron la universidad el 4 de agosto en una de las mejores universidades de Bután, Royal Thimphu College (http://www.rtc.bt/). Estamos muy agradecidos con nuestro equipo de apoyo de oración y EFM por el apoyo que nos permitió obtener tal privilegio. Samuel está trabajando en una licenciatura en inglés y Kenchola está trabajando en una licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas. Oramos por seguridad y sanidad para todos y por la situación actual de la pandemia que ha tenido lugar a nivel mundial.

ACTIVIDADES DE LA MISIÓN Y DE LA IGLESIA

Hemos realizado varios programas que incluyen, el nombramiento de líderes y ancianos (alrededor de 96 de todo Bután), seis ceremonias de boda y graduar al décimo sexto grupo de La Escuela Bíblica de Los Amigos de Bután. A los estudiantes se les enseñó sobre el Antiguo Testamento, el Nuevo Testamento así como los hechos y la historia de los cuatro libros del evangelio de Jesús y sus autores. Los estudiantes también fueron llevados a una excursión. El nuevo centro de capacitación está en el centro de la ciudad de Thimphu. Hemos agregado diez nuevos miembros a nuestra iglesia y todos hicieron una demostración pública por medio del bautismo.

PAÍS

Nuestro país también se enfrenta actualmente en una situación de bloqueo. A continuación se muestran algunas de las imágenes de diferentes partes de Bután siguiendo el bloqueo que de hecho ayuda a disminuir la amenaza de transmisión de COVID-19.

• Para que se abra la situación actual de bloqueo.
• Para completar nuestra visión final 2020 antes del 10 de diciembre.
• Por más iglesias que se están plantando y que cumplen con la Gran Comisión en nuestra generación.
• Para que las iglesias se fortalezcan en la fe y acepten los desafíos de la Gran Comisión. Es fundamental plantar iglesias.
• Que podamos enviar más misioneros fuera de Bután.
• Por nuestras iglesias en Bután y por el país en general con respecto a la seguridad. Que todo lo que está sucediendo, pueda dejar ventajas para el cumplimiento y para el levantamiento de Su reino y Su pueblo en Bután.

FAMILY

Greetings from Bhutan and from our family. To give you an update about our family, my older son and daughter-in-law are doing well. They are excited and happy with the blessing God has given them – our granddaughter. She is two months old and will be three months on August 14^th. Our two younger sons began college on August 4^th at one of the best colleges in Bhutan, Royal Thimphu College (www.rtc.bt). We’re very much grateful to our partners prayer team and EFM for granting such a privilege. Samuel working on a BA in English and Kenchola is working on a BA in Political Science. We are praying for safety and healing for all and for the current pandemic situation which has taken place globally.

MISSION AND CHURCH ACTIVITIES

We have done several programs, which includes the appointing of leaders and elders (about 96 all over Bhutan), six wedding ceremonies, and completing the 16^th batch of Bhutan Friends Bible School. Students were taught about the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the facts and history of the four gospel books of Jesus and their authors. The students were also taken on a field trip. The new training center is in the heart of Thimphu city. We have added ten new members to our church, and they all took a public display of baptism.

COUNTRY

Glory to God that our country, Bhutan, rejoices the 2^nd Prince of Our Beloved His Majesty the King and Royal Highness the Queen was recently born!

Our country is also facing a lockdown situation currently. Below are some of the pictures of different parts in Bhutan following the lockdown which indeed helps in decreasing the threat of transmission of COVID-19.

Please Pray…

• For the current lockdown situation to open.
• For the completion of our end vision 2020 by December 10^th.
• That more churches are being planted and that they fulfill the Great Commission in our generation.
• That the churches grow stronger in faith and accept the challenges for the Great Commission. It’s crucial to plant churches.
• That we could send more missionaries outside Bhutan.
• Please pray for our churches in Bhutan and for the overall country regarding safety. With all that is happening, that it may leave advantages for the fulfillment and for the raising of his kingdom and his people in Bhutan.

¿Cómo está afectando COVID-19 a quienes viven en el área donde ustedes viven y ministran?

• COVID-19 está causando mucho miedo entre la gente en general y está afectando negativamente la economía de la gente rica.
• Entre los creyentes hay más avivamiento y unidad que antes.

¿Cómo está afectando esta situación al ministerio que ustedes llevan acabo?

• El ministerio va bien. Hay avivamiento, oración, unidad y una seriedad creciente en las comunidades. También hay muchas oportunidades para compartir el Evangelio en lugares difíciles.

¿Cuáles son algunas oportunidades que están viendo para compartir las buenas nuevas de Jesucristo con aquellos que aún no lo conocen

• El virus es amenazante mortal, invisible, desconocido y no es una broma. Nos da la oportunidad de predicar el Evangelio a muchos y también enseñar sobre las plagas en Éxodo y Salmo 91 (Dios es nuestro protector).

¿Cuáles son dos o tres peticiones de oración que podemos usar para orar por ustedes y por los que ministran?

• Oren para que a través de esta crisis, más personas vengan al Señor y tengan más consuelo.
• Oren para que la iglesia se divida en grupos más pequeños y sature a toda la nación con el Evangelio.
• Oren por nuestra protección.

How is COVID-19 affecting those who live in the area where you live and minister?

• COVID-19 is causing lots of fear among the general people and is affecting negatively the economy of the rich people.
• Among believers there is more revival and unity than before.

How is this situation affecting the ministry you lead?

• Ministry is going well. There is revival, prayer, unity, and a growing seriousness in the house fellowships. There are also lots of opportunities to share the Gospel in difficult places.

What are some opportunities you are seeing for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with those who don’t know him?

• The virus is life-threatening, unseen, unknown, and not a joke. It gives us opportunity to preach the Gospel to many and to also teach about the plagues in Exodus and Psalm 91 (God is our protector).

What are two or three prayer requests we can use to pray for you and those you lead?

• Pray that through this crisis more people will come to the Lord and have more comfort.
• Pray for the church to divide into smaller groups and saturate the whole nation with the Gospel.
• Pray for our protection.

On a personal note, our eldest son, David, married Ruth on 20 of December 2018 and has been sent to the second biggest town of Chhukha Bhutan (Phuntsholing) to serve as a missionary. Vision 2020 is very near to us and CPM is going fast with three days of fasting every three months. We plant churches because there is no better way to fulfill the Great Commission.
