We have been receiving some stories from our missionaries and national leaders about what God is doing in the midst of the pandemic. We are sharing these stories with you so that you can be encouraged and also remember to keep lifting up our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world in prayer.
This story comes from Babir Gautam, who oversees the ministry of Friends Church in Bihar. He is also a church planter and provides training for leaders.
A man named Devendra Maharaj has been a believer of God for the last 10 years. Due to an adverse situation in his life, he was the only believer in his family. His wife and children were not following the Lord.
In this pandemic, he lost his job and his family was also going through trauma because they lost their eldest son in April 2020. He and his whole family were totally broken.
Last week, he gave me a call and narrated the whole story of what had happened in his life. After hearing his story I broke down too. I prayed for him.
With everything going on, Devendra’s landlord was also asking him to pay rent or vacate the house. I prayed and went forward to help by paying his rent and also providing him with food for his family.
By seeing the love and mercy of God, his wife and youngest son have accepted Jesus as their personal savior and they are willing to take a public testimony of baptism. Once this lockdown ends, I will visit them and perform the public testimony of baptism.
Devendra himself is shocked how his family has been moved by the Spirit of God. What he has waited for is now happening. Please pray for his family.
