Luke 10 trips play a vital role in how we faithfully follow God’s leading to establish new mission fields. Whether through prayer, exploration, or strategic planning, participants engage in a shared journey of listening, learning, and responding to where God is at work around the world.
Pre-Launch Planning TripsA Luke 10 Pre-Launch Planning Trip occurs after EFM has made a decision of commitment to launching the mission field. EFM commissions Field Study Groups to complete a Pre-Launch Planning Report, which often requires further trips to obtain the details necessary for EFM to be able to deploy missionaries to a location to launch a new field. Prayer TripsThese annual trips to EFM mission fields support its commitment to sending missionaries and advancing the 2024–2028 pre- and early-launch benchmarks for each field. Teams are asked to pray for the soil and for workers (Luke 10:2). They will coordinate with sponsoring regions/yearly meetings and with Luke 10 Exploration Trip leaders who completed discernment after 2023 trips. 10:2 Prayer Trips will focus on communities for prayer walking and interceding that “the Kingdom come, and God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Apply Here! |
Exploration TripsLuke 10 Exploration Trips bring together teams representing four participant types to visit locations where Friends are considering launching a new mission field. Guided by Luke 10, they use EFM’s CAN GO Criteria to evaluate their experiences. This same criteria is applied upon returning home as they report to the Luke 10 Think Tanks, helping determine whether a site receives a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” for further exploration or launching a new mission field.
