Starting in 2012 Damascus Friends Church in Ohio (connected to EFC-ER) began supporting the Ben and Charity Kibbe family who were living and doing ministry in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Over time some of the Christian leaders the Kibbes were working with planted churches in Lahu tribal villages. There is great potential for planting more churches not only in Thailand but also in neighboring countries where the Lahu people live. Through a ministry called The Way Foundation EFM is helping to support this church planting effort and missionary outreach.

David Thomas is also currently working with The Way Foundation, teaching them Whole Life Discipleship through the Discipling for Development course. David travels to Thailand a few times a year to meet with the team there.
