The following stories are shared by our Friends in Bangladesh and show how the lives of people like these women who attend the “Anannya Class”, were impacted by your support! 

J* grew up in a Roman Catholic family. She never read the Bible as a child and didn’t know how to pray well. She recently joined an “Anannya” class (women’s weekly Bible study group). Since joining and participating, Jenny has been reading the Bible and praying regularly. Her whole family now prays and reads the Bible in the evening, and she preaches at the Women’s Fellowship. J* is very thankful for God in her life and how he has changed her life.    L* grew up in a Christian family and thought she knew who Jesus was, she did not know much about him. Her daughter-in-law invited her to attend the “Anannya” class (women’s weekly Bible study group). L* was skeptical and thought she would know more about Jesus than her daughter-in-law since her daughter-in-law grew up as a Muslim. On the first day of the class, her daughter-in-law gave her books, notebooks, pens, Bibles, and a songbook; everything she needed. L* said, “Daughter-in-law, I don’t know how to read or write.” Then her daughter-in-law said, “You can do it all.” L* kept attending classes and slowly the lessons began to work in her heart. Even though L* is unable to read, she listens to all the class discussions and makes it a priority to come to class.   A* grew up in a Hindu family, following all the rituals of Hinduism. She came to know the Lord six months before she was married. The family she married into is Christian. A* did not know how to read or write but she would pray. She began to attend the “Anannya” class (women’s weekly Bible study group) and has been praying regularly and trying to memorize Bible verses. When one of her daughters was sick, she prayed for God to heal her, and he did. She is confident in the Lord and how he listens to her prayers.

The following story is shared by our Friends in Nepal and shows how a life was impacted by your support! If you would like to help make a difference in the lives of people like Arun and Babli, here’s how:

Arun and Babli are CHE trainers who have a unique children’s ministry in Aurahi of Dhanusa district. After their marriage (which was against their parent’s wishes) both invited the ire of their non-believing families and were attending the local church. Babli initially started to bring the young female children together and recite songs and tell Bible stories to them. The children learned these songs of worship and liked coming together every day to their house. Soon the mothers also accompanied the children, and it became a bigger group. Arun & Babli discovered that most of these children were Musahars (a Dalit group). The group grew bigger and got more involved as Arun and Babli were trained to teach using children’s CHE lessons which were laced with Bible studies. They also encouraged Bible studies in the family. Last year six of these girls took the bold step of making a public testimony of baptism and were formally led into the family of Christ by Arun. After graduating from high school, one girl (L*) even enrolled in a Bible School nearby for a 12-month Bible training. During this time, accompanied by, Babli she even went about evangelizing with in nearby communities which were majorly Musahar communities. God is bringing about transformation in these communities using these little angels of change

The following is a wonderful report on the installation of Tube Wells from The Gautam Family in India! Tube Wells were one of the items in our 2022 Christmas Catalog. EFM is excited to share this report and thankful for your donations!

Glory to God

Thank you for your generous giving towards the need for tube wells in Bihar.

One tube well was given to Ranchi, Jharkhand which is a new ministry field. The water table there is very low due to the rocky area.

Here is another tube well that was given to a village in Bihar.

Here is a photo of the new fellowship started in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Praise and glory goes to our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us this new field in Jharkhand. Please pray for Jharkhand and Bihar! Thank you!

The following story is shared by our Friends in Mexico and shows how a life was  impacted by your support! If you would like to help make a difference in the lives of people like A*, here’s how:

A* was part of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was suffering from kidney failure due to diabetes. When two local leaders met him, he was very ill and laying on a bed almost dead and almost blind. The leaders evangelized to him and his wife and they both accepted Jesus.  He and his wife were discipled. God worked a miracle in A*’s life and after much prayer, he started to feel better and recovered his vision. One day A* received the news that the hospital had a kidney for him, and he had a transplant done. The recovery process was not always easy, at first, his body started rejecting the new organ. However, now A* is recovered and he and his wife are strong leaders in the church and are even feeling a strong call to become pastors someday.

The following story is shared by our Friends in Bangladesh and shows how a life was impacted by your support! If you would like to help make a difference in the lives of people like S*, here’s how:

S* is from a Muslim family and has been divorced twice. She now lives in a house with one of her children and earns a living by working in people’s homes. She bought a small piece of land with her earnings and built a small house to live in with her children.   One day a healthcare worker preached the Good News to S*. Later, a preacher explained the gospel to her in more detail and S* made a public testimony of baptism. She is a third-generation believer.   When God opened S*’s heart during the preaching of the gospel, she accepted Jesus as her savior but had not received the touch of the Holy Spirit. Then, she attended a women’s conference at the invitation of that same healthcare worker. During the spiritual revival meeting on the second night, she received the touch of the Holy Spirit and committed herself to sharing the testimony of her life with others. After returning from the conference, she is now attending worship service regularly, learning new worship songs, and started witnessing to the people of her area about what Jesus has done in her life.

The following story is shared by our Friends in Rwanda and shows how a life was impacted by your support!

Pacient is being discipled by a pastor from the Evangelical Friends Church of Burundi. Pacient says that the pastor there has woken up the leaders in the church to have good relationships with God, themselves, others, and creation. Through these lessons, Pacient and his family have been able to grow and develop holistically. Pacient and his family have learned to take charge and improve things by using their own energy, instead of waiting for someone else to come and do it for them.  He has joined savings groups and associations to partner with others, which enabled his family to move out of their rental house and build their own house. They moved in even though it’s not finished in order to save money on rent and continue to work on their house. They also bought animals to have manure for fertilizer, enabling them to improve their farming, especially in family banana plants. Pacient, his wife, and his children are living in peace together. Their neighbors are seeing the changes in their family and livelihood and are beginning to ask what happened. They are starting to learn how to do some of these things from them.

P* was a Hindu from an impoverished family. The society around him did not treat him well since he was poor, which disgruntled him. One day, he heard the gospel from local leaders. The message was about how Jesus loved all equally. This message drew him in and he wanted to hear more. Eventually, the full gospel was presented to him and he accepted Christ as his savior. The villagers and his family didn’t like that and began to come against him. They persecuted him and his family cut him out of his inheritance. Soon he had to move to a new city where there was a Friends church. He felt called to ministry and the local leaders started training him. Now, P* is one of the best leaders in that church. He has brought many Hindus to the Lord and helped establish many churches. He has also trained and raised other leaders.

The following story is shared by our Friends in Mexico and shows how a few relationships were changed from your support.

There is a church that was planted in the village of Ja Saw Pa. There were just a handful of new believers at the time. One of the first believers was named Lebo and he was very faithful in attending church and helping around the community. A few months ago, one of the leaders was there teaching a Bible study and Lebo started to sob. When the leader asked him what was going on, he said that alcohol was a big part of his life and that it was hard for him to muster up enough courage to talk to people without alcohol. He was feeling conviction from the Holy Spirit and was wanting to give it up completely. He continues to grow spiritually, and it is encouraging that the leaders in Ja Saw Pa are teaching the word and allowing the Holy Spirit to do his work.

L* was born to a Musahar couple who worshipped idols and spirits. She came to the Children’s group organized by A* and B* and over a period of three to four years learned about Jesus Christ as Saviour. Finally, she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was helping in leading other children from her community. She took a public testimony of baptism in 2020 and this year, in 2022, got the chance to attend a ten-month Bible school in Hetauda. She came back during the break to get involved in evangelistic activities with B* and A*.

The following story is shared by our Friends in Mexico and shows how a few relationships were changed from your support.

Young adults in Mexico are being inspired to become church planters and potential future missionaries by EFM’s Five-Year Goal and Vision Mexico 32 (VM32). There are two bright, young college students in Sinaloa, Marissa and Denisse. Besides attending college, they started the online Bible Institute classes from Mexico YM’s Bible Institute ITA in order to become church planters or missionaries. These two girls are on fire for the Lord and are very committed leaders in the Friends Church in Siete Ejidos, Sinaloa. They have gathered other youth to form a bible study group and youth events. Marissa and Denisse never miss an opportunity to witness their faith in Jesus to others.  Also, at the Mexico Yearly Meeting Session, eight young people raised their hands saying “Here I am Lord, send me” at the campfire time. This Kairos moment happened after they heard a message about Matthew 9:35-39. After the sermon everyone was invited to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers to the field. It was a powerful time of prayer where all could sense God’s spirit. There was an open invitation challenging everyone to commit to the church planting VM32 project and to see if there was anyone sensing the calling from the Lord to be missionaries or church planters. The next day the team got together to have a meeting with these eight future missionaries so they could share more about their call. It was exciting to hear that what they felt at the campfire was confirmation of the call they had been sensing for a long time. Praise the Lord!!
